Dr. Bridgette GASA holds a Bachelor of Building Arts in Architecture (University of Port Elizabeth), a cum-laude Post-graduate Diploma in Project Management, (TfMC, Newport University), a Certificate in Project Management for the Public Sector (University of Stellenbosch), a Masters Degree in Project Management (University of Natal), a Construction Management Programme qualification (University of Stellenbosch) and a Global Executive Development Programme Certificate through the Gordon’s Institute of Business Science (GIBS). A PhD in Construction Management with the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU).
She is registered with many well-known professional institutes, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building as well as its Past-President for the African Region. She was the first-ever female and first-ever African President of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) during the year 2008. She serves on a number of Boards and in 2010, Dr. Gasa was appointed by the President of South Africa to serve as a National Planning Commissioner. Bridgette is widely traveled and is well-regarded as an international speaker. In 2008, she established The Elilox Group Pty Ltd. The Elilox Group focuses on: Programme and Project Management Consulting, Infrastructure Development and the provision of services within the rail sector.
Dr. GASA is the recipient of prestigious awards, notably: Department of Science & Technology Award for a Leading Woman Scientist in Industry (2008), an Award recognizing her as South Africa’s Most Influential Business Woman in Basic Industries (2013), Africa’s Most Influential woman in Building and Construction (2016) and she’s ranked no. 20 in the Choiseul Africa’s 100 Economic Leaders index
